Research
We are continuing our collaboration with the Research committee on a scoping review on guidelines for pediatric forensic medical examinations for minors seeking asylum
Presenting the research at the 2025 American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference & Exhibition
Asylum ACE/PCE Screenings
We are implementing a trauma severity assessment to evaluate adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), positive childhood experiences (PCEs) and the impact of these ACEs and PCEs on the health and wellness of child refugees and asylees.

We worked on developing improved screening methods in the evaluation of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and the impact of these ACEs on child refugees and asylees.
Policy/Resolutions:
We have co-authored AMA Resolutions on "No-Touch" policies in U.S. detention centers and expansion of U.S. asylum qualifications
Both were adopted at the House of Delegates meeting in June 2025
We have co-authored an AAP policy to improve pediatric forensic medical examinations

2025-2026 Children's Health Committee Mission Statement: The Physicians for Human Rights Student Advisory Board Committee on Children’s Health is dedicated to advocating for the welfare and rights of children both domestically and internationally. We strive to engage in advocacy, research, and policy work that will directly benefit children and families.
