About Us

2025-2026 Human Rights Updates Committee Mission Statement: The Human Rights Update Committee is dedicated to amplifying the voices and work of those on the frontlines of human rights and humanitarian crises. We aim to document the efforts and achievements of advocates, healthcare workers, and community partners, fostering learning and collaboration. We seek to empower those looking to learn more and get involved in human rights work.

2025-2026 Goals:

Podcast Initiative:

• Develop and host a podcast series interviewing asylum clinics, physicians, and PHR national members.

• Focus on improving dissemination of information across communities and highlighting asylum medicine stories.

• Create an editorial calendar for episodes (e.g., monthly/quarterly themes).

Collaboration with Media Team

• Partner with PHR media team to strengthen social media presence.

• Share podcast highlights, advocacy updates, and infographics on PHR platforms.

Internal Community Updates

• Provide regular updates during PHR roundtables.

• Highlight community initiatives that PHR members and committees can support.

• Share outcomes and lessons learned from asylum clinic work, podcasts, and external partnerships.
